About the Old Home Week Pierogi Eating Contest

WHAT: It’s a Pierogi Eating Contest. Whoever eats the most pierogies in 10 minutes wins.

WHEN: Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. (after the parade)

WHY: Because your Eastern European ancestors would be proud. Also, all proceeds go to a good cause, the Forest City Disc Golf Course at Kennedy Park.

$10 gets you entered. It also gets you all the pierogi you can shove in your face in the span of 10 minutes. Kielbasa, halupki, haluski, and antacids are not included, but feel free to bring your own. Prizes will be awarded to the top three eaters, with the champion receiving the vaunted Man-Boy Memorial Pierogi Trophy.

All entrants will receive a newly designed 2008 OHW Pieorgi Eating Contest T-shirt, which is sure to become a much soughtafter collector’s item.

All entrants must be 18 years of age or older. (Sorry youngsters, only adults possess the responsibility necessary to eat enough food in one sitting to feed a small African village).
